Kardashian?s $40 Million Richer: Thanks E!

Well, if you weren?t already sick of the Kardashian klan already, you soon will be. The power family just signed a three year, $40 million deal with E!. The Kardashians certainly are raking it in. They already took over E! for seven strong seasons of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians? and they will continue for three more. I have to admit, it is the best show E! has and I used to watch like a train wreck. Till Kimmy went and got all stuck up with her quickie wedding, it totally turned me off. But I still tune in occasionally, cause like I said, it is the best show they have and sometimes nothing else is on. You will see the entire Kardashian Krew – Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian Odom, Rob Kardashian, Bruce Jenner, Kris Jenner, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner. Scott and Mason supposedly penned a deal of their own. I hope we see more of that cutie, and I don?t mean Scott. The $3 million doesn?t include other endorsements or projects for the family, or their spin offs, “Kourtney and Kim Take New York” and “Khloe and Lamar.? The most recent season of “Keeping Up With [...]

Job-holders have exclusive right to apply for payday loans in the course of tough time because these loans are purposely designed for the salary-based folks, who have been earning the sound amount and able to repay the gained amount till their next paychecks. These people try to live within their income. But unseen fiscal crises compel them go for these loans. But these loans are really like helping hand for the jobbers, who are into the unseen monetary crises fore the shortage of the sufficient amount for dealing with their problems. Alistair Overeem blames anti-inflammatory medication containing testosterone for elevated T/E ratio, failed test

Hulking heavyweight Alistair Overeem, who lost a shot at the UFC heavyweight title when he failed a March 27 random drug test administered to him by the Nevada Athletic Commission, said in a statement Monday released by his management team that the reason for his failure was medication he was given to treat a rib injury.

Overeem, who had a 14:1 testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratio that was more than twice the legal limit of 6:1 in Nevada, was on Friday pulled from the title fight against champion Junior dos Santos that was to be the main event of UFC 146 on May 26 in Las Vegas by UFC president Dana White and replaced by Frank Mir.

[Related: Frank Mir will now face Junior dos Santos for the heavyweight belt at UFC 146]

The failure was first announced by the Nevada commission on April 4, noting that Overeem's T/E ratio exceeded 10:1. The next day, it announced that the exact number was 14:1.

Overeem had a hearing scheduled in front of the Nevada commission on Tuesday, but White said Saturday after UFC 145, "I'm not too optimistic" that Overeem would get licensed and that the UFC had marketing deadlines it had to meet. He said the UFC couldn't deal with the uncertainty and ultimately pitted Mir against dos Santos.

[Related: Dana White infuriated by Alistair Overeem's positive test]

In his statement, Overeem said in March he was given an anti-inflammatory medication, which he did not identify, that was mixed with testosterone to treat a rib injury.

His elevated T/E ratio was discovered following a surprise test given by the Nevada commission on March 27 to all six of the heavyweights who were participating in a news conference that day. The others -- dos Santos, Mir, Cain Velasquez, Antonio "Big Foot" Silva and Roy Nelson -- all passed the test.

Prior to the UFC 146 press conference in March, I aggravated an old rib injury on my left side. My doctor prescribed, and I accepted, an anti-inflammatory medication that was mixed with testosterone. I was completely unaware that testosterone was one of the ingredients in the medication. Although I was unaware, I do realize it is my job to know what I am putting into my body.

Overeem has fought under a cloud of suspicion for years, though he had never failed a test previously. He used to fight as a light heavyweight at 205 pounds, but moved to heavyweight and bulked his body up tremendously.

In his statement, Overeem vehemently denied using PEDs and supported the commission. His entire statement:

To my friends and fans,

I am deeply saddened to announce that on Friday, April 20, I respectfully withdrew from the May 26 event so that I can request a continuance until my situation with the Nevada State Athletic Commission is resolved.

I cannot express how sorry I am to the Commission, Junior Dos Santos, the fans, the owners and employees of the UFC, my friends and family and anyone else who this has affected.

I absolutely do not believe in, nor do I use performance-enhancing drugs. I am a clean fighter and I will do whatever it takes to prove this to everyone.

I respect the Nevada Commissioners and Executive Director Keith Kizer and what they are doing to keep?the sport of mixed martial arts regulated and safe for athletes. I look forward to working with them in the days and weeks ahead.

Friends and fans, I ask for your patience as I work through this matter. Please support me. I promise to return to the Octagon soon.

There is no date set for Overeem's formal hearing. He is facing no punishment because he did not have a license at the time of the test, but he would have to explain the elevated ratios to the athletic commission when he applies for a license after he's ready to fight again. He can choose not to apply for a license in Nevada again, but he almost certainly wouldn't be able to fight in the state unless and until he met the commission face to face and explained himself, even if he does so elsewhere first.

Droid Incredible 4G LTE Appears On Verizon Promo Site With $299 Price Tag

incredible4gIt's been spotted in leaked press renders and blurry photos before, but Verizon has just recently (and perhaps inadvertently) made the new Droid Incredible nice and official. The Droid Incredible 4G LTE just popped up on Verizon's Droid Does promotional site, and while you can't have one just yet, it's comforting to know that it'll see the light of say sooner rather than later. In addition to a mildly unnerving robo-lady talking up the device's LTE radio and HTC's Sense UI, the site also confirms most of the specs that have been previously reported.

Demo 2012: Looking for the Next Google, Facebook or Apple

Demo is a fascinating show. What you see is a string of companies that each have six minutes to pitch their products to an audience of media, investors, other companies (who might buy them), and peers. My initial thought is that my friend Carmine Gallo, who wrote The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs and teaches people how to present, could make a living helping these folks present properly.

This Philips AmbientLED Bulb Is Your Never-Worry-About-A-Bulb-Again Deal of the Day [Dealzmodo]

Earth Day, the one day a year when the world gets motivated about making our planet a little cleaner. Some plant a garden, others wait 24 hours to take their trash to the dump. I spent the day inside with all my lights on, celebrating the my electro-savings with my Philips AmbientLED Light Bulb. This year alone, I could be saving up to $140 in electricity, not to mention helping polar bears, dolphins and penguins and other cute animals that are taking the brunt of our pollution problems. Not only does this light replace your incandescent 60 watt bulb, it also claims to last for 15 years. That's 15 years never reading a lightbulb description ever again. More »

FBI suspects student candidate of hacking his own election

Featured

3 hrs.

Campaign season can make presidential candidates do crazy things, but it's not often one resorts to hacking into a computer and stealing 700 voters' passwords and IDs to alter the electronic polling results.

Then again, not every presidential candidate is as desperate as Matt Weaver allegedly was.

A college junior running for president of the student government at California State San Marcos, north of San Diego, Weaver was arrested on March 15 on suspicion of election fraud, unlawful access to a computer and 10 counts of identity theft, the North County Times reported. March 15 was the last day of the four-day voting period.

University officials detected suspicious activity on a school computer and traced it to Weaver, who allegedly was found working a school computer and in possession of a device used to steal passwords, the newspaper reported. Weaver is believed to have stolen approximately 700 students' passwords and user IDs, which he used to alter the election results.

The election was canceled following Weaver's arrest, and rescheduled for May. Weaver posted bail the day after he was arrested and no charges have been filed against him.

FBI Special Agent Darrell Foxworth confirmed to the North County Times Wednesday that the FBI is now investigating the case. Foxworth declined to say exactly what federal agents were looking for, only that "it appears there may be violations of federal laws."

The newspaper story added that Weaver is the editor of an underground campus newspaper that has drawn criticism for its "explicit violent and sexual content."

Farther north in California, about 50 of Berkeley High School's 3,200 students are facing suspension for a similar offense: hacking into the school's computer system and accepting payment to clear students' absences last fall.

At least four of the students face expulsion for spearheading the scam, in which a stolen administrative password was used to access the school's attendance database, called Powerschool, Oakland's KTVU News reported.

Principal Pasquale Scuderi did not disclose how much money the ringleaders made.

HBT: Canseco becomes a Worcester Tornado

Some dreams never die. And for as crazy as Jose Canseco is, at least give him credit for not quitting:

The Worcester Tornadoes today signed former Major League Outfielder & Designated Hitter Jose Canseco to a one season contract. The native Cuban spent parts of 17 seasons in the majors, mashing 462 homeruns ??Team owner, Todd Breighner, says ?We?re very optimistic Jose will be a very solid ball player for the Tornadoes as our goal is to continue to bring high-level baseball to Worcester.

Worcester is part of the independent Can-Am league ? which used to sorta be the Northeast League ? which is probably the equivalent of A-ball.

I predict Canseco will hit several home runs, post a pretty low average and then part ways with the team after, oh, 30 games or so for reasons that are not at all clear to anyone other than Jose Canseco.

.MySista Gurl: Heart Disease - It's Your Choice

Heart Disease - It's Your Choice

Heart disease is the #1 killer in the United States today. This may not be a surprise to many of you. What may surprise you is that a heart attack is avoidable in many cases. Unfortunately heart defects do not fall into this category and can not be prevented.

Through quick response and education most heart attacks are not fatal. 75% of men and 60% of women survive and live at least a year. Still it has been reported that 150,000 people die each year of heart attacks.

Heart attacks occur more frequently in the morning hours because the blood platelets are especially sticky and more prone to clots. The average age of heart attack victims is 66 for men and 70 for women. The risk increases for men after the age of 45 and for women after the age of 55. Now I don't want all the women that are reading this report to wave it in the face of their favorite man quite yet because men that survive a heart attack usually live longer than women that survive an attack.

Enough of the gruesome facts, let's get on to how it is our choice. What can we do to prevent missing lunch or worse, the rest of our lives? There are three things within our control that play a big part in the likelihood of suffering a heart attack.

  1. Weight
  2. Diet
  3. Fitness

Control your weight.

It has been a long known fact that obesity increases a person's risk of heart disease. Something that has just recently been discovered is that waist size plays a bigger role in a person's risk than BMI (body mass index). Lopez-Jimenez and his colleagues from the Mayo Clinic tested nearly 16,000 heart patients who participated in one of four previously conducted studies. More than one-third of the patients died during the studies, which ranged in length from six months to more than seven years. They found that people with a high BMI had a 35% greater chance of survival. When a high BMI was coupled with a large waist the chance of survival was cut in half. So, what's the choice? Decrease your waist size or increase your risk of heart attack.

Control your diet

Both quality and quantity of the foods you consume are vital in keeping your arteries fit and functioning. The quality of your consumption will keep your arteries clean and let blood flow smoothly. When you eat too many foods that are too high in saturated fats you increase your risk of building up cholesterol plaque. Most of us are aware that we have two kinds of cholesterol the "good", HDL, and the "bad", LDL. Let me help you understand the difference.. To put it as simply as I can, LDL is considered bad because it carries the cholesterol to the cell and if it carries to much, or more than the cell can use the LDL just hangs around and builds up into plaque. Where HDL gets the good reputation because it carries the cholesterol away from the cell back to the liver to be broken down or eliminated from the body as waste. So, what's the choice? Increase your HDL and decrease your LDL or increase your risk of heart attack.

Control your fitness

Your heart is just like any other muscle in your body. If you don't use it you lose it. You have heard it time and time again. All it takes is 30 minutes of aerobic exercise 3 to 4 times a week. I'm not sure if it is the time constraint or if people are just afraid of the word?aerobic.?With obesity and heart attack stealing our lives at an amazing rate it is time to fight back. Aerobic exercise does not mean running marathons. It does not mean fitness club fees. You could drastically reduce your risk of heart attack and heart disease simply by taking a brisk walk around your neighborhood 3 or 4 times a week. If you don't currently get much exercise you should start slowly and work yourself up to walking a mile and a half in 30 to 35 minutes. Of course you want to check with your Dr. before making any changes to your diet or fitness program. You have your car checked for road worthy before any long trip, don't you? So what's the choice? Increase your heart rate three to four times a week or increase your risk of heart attack.

So you see, the choice truly is yours. When you take control of your weight, your diet and your fitness, you take control of your life.
